Wallpaper elicits a strong response from most people who have any interest in interior decorating. It truly is a love it or hate it item. Happy House Interiors clients tend to fall into the love category.

Wallpaper adds immediate charm and visual interest to a room. It can also be an element that holds up to strong architectural detail as it does in the dining room of our Victorian project seen above.

When used in an entryway it can set the tone of the home. We love how this wallpaper seems to say “Fun is welcome!” Our clients love it too.

My grandfather had great taste. He bought my grandmother’s childhood home when it came on the market years after her parent’s had passed away. He painstakingly worked to restore the old house to its former glory. This wallpaper in the entry hallway is etched into my memory. It could still be used today!

With a small scale pattern in a low contrast color way, wallpaper can be very subtle and alluring. We used this pattern in two projects, once in the sage color way above and once in a golden yellow.

The idea that wallpaper is limiting is a result of limited thinking. Wallpaper can pair beautifully with artwork, patterned upholstery and rugs.

At Happy House Interiors, much like dogs, we think wallpaper helps make a house feel like a home.
